Duddenhoe End ‘Pop-Up Pub’

The first ‘pop-up pub’ in April was an encouraging success with a reasonable turn-out and offers of help from potential landlords to run future events.

James Wilkinson and Adrian Preston put in a lot of time and effort to transform the village hall, stock and run the bar. It was much appreciated by guests who mingled and supped from a range of beers, wine and soft drinks, all at competitive prices.

The pub is due to open its doors again on Sunday 24 June, 1.00 pm-4.00 pm. All are welcome.

Duddenhoe End Village Hall Xmas Lights

22 December 2017

With the first snowfall of the year adding a magical dimension, villagers turned out for the switch-on of the Christmas lights at Duddenhoe End Village Hall.

Suitably warmed by mulled wine and sustained by mince pies, we trooped outside for the traditional countdown. It has become the custom to invite one of the younger members of our community to press the button and 10 year-old, Emily, a relative newcomer to our village, performed the ceremony with suitable aplomb.

The Xmas lights event took place just a couple of weeks after the hall’s AGM. We are delighted to report that the hall is currently in good physical and financial shape and we look forward to it serving the community for many years to come.

We are delighted to welcome James Wilkinson to the village hall committee. James and his family have moved recently to Duddenhoe End and are committed to involving themselves in village life.
